News update: Costa Rica/ Wild Climax Refuge!

FuckForForest have bought about 60 hectares with forest in Costa Rica that now is protected area. The exact nr and figures are we still waiting for form our layer in Costa Rica. This protected area is now named: Wild Climax Refuge. About 10 % of this is land that is destroyed by farmers and need to get replanted. The rest of the land is intact forest that is untouched by humans.

FFF are going to by more land in Costa Rica in the close future and also start to re plant the area of land that need to get re-planted. We hope to be able to start the re-forestation project in the coming month. We are working with the local organization there to develop an idée how to do this now.

The problem on Costa Rica is that farmers have spited up the big areas of forest that once was there and it is just small islands with natural forest left. So it do not matter just to buy this islands and make it protected. The animals and plants will die there any way, it will just get inbreeds and the life will get degenerated fast. So to protect the forest you also need to connect all this small islands with forest again.

Another problem in Costa Rica is the rich and filthy people that go there and invest. Close to the area Wild Climax Refuge a rich American bought 300 hectare with forest and building a road right trough the forest to build a luxury house. Not allowed in Costa Rica to destroy natural forest but what to do when rich people control the world… So for people in Costa Rica please stand up for your forest rights to be there, you have legal rights to fight this rich people! We will investigate more in this... The prices of land is also going up be course of this, so for small organizations that like to protect forest and do not have milions to spend it got much harder.

The 3 problems in Costa Rica are the fake re-planting projects that are going on there. On the paper Costa Rica is a green and healthy country and work hard to keep the tropical forest. A lot of people and organizations send money to Costa Rica to help with the reforestation that is happening there. But what is happening… In Costa Rica a plantation with teak is a reforestation. But this plant does not belong in the eco system and no animals and plants from Costa Rica can live there.

FuckForForest (Pem, Ymmor &Leona) was in Costa Rica winter 2007 to get the legal papers ready and to visit the local organization Arbofilia to learn more about the situation there and how we can help. We also visited the area of forest that FFF have protected guided by a sweet boy that gowned up in the area. We made a lot of interviews with the leader of Arbofilia that we also will putt out soon. Of course we also made Sexy photos and videos from us visiting the beautiful forest there.

Of course, we in fuckforforest love the freedom of animals. So when the Berlin zoo contacted us with a request about helping one of their animals we reacted with mixed emotions. Should we help an animal from the zoo, a prison for animals, made so filthy humans can enjoy nature from their destructive cities? But when they told us it was about Knut - the ice bear, we could not say no.

The issue is that Knut, because of too much contact with humans, have lost his animal instincts and most important his sexual instinct! He cannot connect to female bears anymore and will probably end up in a life of loneliness. So we were asked as FFF to try to help Knut out with some soft sexual therapy.

We were happy to find out that Berlinale, the big German film festival was getting arranged in these times. So we decided to take Knut there, together with two sexy girls, to mix with other celebrities in hope of getting Knut to understand the importance of natural instincts. Maybe we will even find a female bear for him, since this in the Berlinale and all.

The problem is that Knut is extremely sexually frustrated and also kind of violently aggressive. So we had to put him in Bondage to be safe with his extreme sexual urges. So we went there - with the “FFF instinct moderation campaign”, with the celebrity ice bear, to mingle with the stars.

We were able to stay at the Berlinale for about 15 minutes before the police surrounded us and made us follow them out to an open space. It was about 6 police people surrounding us now. They said they were asked to take care of us of by the organizer of Berlinale film festival, who did not like the way we looked. Leona and Natty were half naked showing their beautiful bodies and Knut was suppressed, lonely and tied up with a mouth gag. Many people surrounded us now, trying to figure out what the problem was. A nice man started to argue with the police about why they did this, calling their behavior childish and un-necessary. We had done nothing except being a little closer to how we were born, in beauty and innocence, and showing Knut humans also can be naked.

We had to show our passports and got told to leave and not come back this day. Sadly we understood that we were not wanted at this place, even not the sad and suppressed ice bear.

It is sad that a film festival as Berlinale let this happen while many people in the film industry try to fight for freedom of expression in their movies, Nudity is getting more accepted, at least in a lot of European movies. Anyway, showing beautiful bodies and try to make the ice bear happy was too much for the Berlinale. Maybe we are all a little bit like Knut? Trapped in a cage and afraid of out instincts..

Sad about this world, the too sweet girls and the celebrity ice bear went home. Maybe it is no place in the world for these kinds of creatures?

Dear Tommy, Leona, and members of Fuck For the Forest –

Our project started in an instant – the moment he looked me in the eyes and asked, ‘Well, what can we do about it?”

We had been talking for hours about the jungle that existed only 30 years ago – massive trees, monkeys and birds, hundreds of plants used for medicine, the festival of the chonta palm and the life spirit that is called ‘arutum’ in their language. There was excitement in the memories, and a wave of sadness when they explained that this forest had never grown back since it was cut down. Why did this happen? The forest had always recovered before when small clearings were made for gardens or houses.

And so we talked again about the animals; about the ones that bring the seeds to new areas. In a land now patchworked by fields and roads, the monkeys had too far to travel, and the birds were without food. In the past the animals kept the forest alive. Now if we were going to see these trees again, we would have to do it ourselves – we would become the birds and the monkeys for this forest. Without another word, he nodded.

From that moment on, another power took over. Search parties were organized to find the seeds, greenhouses and planting beds were constructed, word spread to other indigenous communities, and the first trees were planted. The vision was clear; our responsibilities defined.

And just at this moment, in literally an answer to prayers, you came into our project offering the gift of your support. Your timing was incredible, and has transformed a dream into a reality. Since that time tens of thousands of trees have been planted, and more people are joining the work every day.

Without the generous, audacious, visionary support from Fuck For the Forest, none of this would be happening. The forest edge would only be retreating, with no one working on behalf of the jungle itself. Now, less than a year later, you’ve seen this jungle. We’ve laughed and suffered together, and you understand so much more what we are fighting for.

I believe we, as humans, have a spiritual responsibility to heal the damage that has been created by our actions. We are living in a chaotic time and true leadership is rare. You have found how to translate your visions into actions, and world is changing because of it. On behalf of myself and all the species of the jungle, I thank you.

An exhibition about freedom of speech had contacted us, asking for some material from the FFF website to represent FFF at the exhibition. We were quite surprised and happy. The freedom of speech is very important to us and we are happy FFF could be represented, even if we are funny and sexy.

So we were invited to this exhibition placed in the Nobel peace center in Oslo, Norway. The exhibition was made up by different stories about people fighting for freedom and the right to express one self. This was what we also tried to do when showing our love for nature at the festival where we did our erotic eco performance together with "the cumshots". The Norwegian government thought our expression was too much and wanted to put us in jail for 20 days because of indecent behavior. Sad that someone see sex as such a dangerous force.

Sexuality is one of the most powerfull forces of living energy, and you can also use this energy for healing. FFF have fun with sex to heal nature, maybe you can think about something else to do for the world with your love?

We think sex and nudity should be a human right issue. It is a human right to be able to have sex wherever and whenever they want and also be able to be naked without getting arrested. Nudity and sex is natural and it is a human right to be able to express this needs. Or just let’s ban eating. There are many people eating in a discussing way. Why should other people have to see this? Well, while we are at it, lets ban life!

After the freedom of speech exhibition, Tommy was going back from Norway to Germany and he went with the boat (color line, color magic). Here something strange happened. A school class with student’s 19-22 yeas old knew him from FFF and wanted to talk about the project. This was in a piano bar at the boat. He had not been drinking and was just talking quietly to the nice young interested people around him.

After 10 minutes a man from the security came and said that he had to leave the piano bar. They did not like what he was TALKING about. He was not wanted in the bar because he talked about FFF. Tommy got quite shocked and asked if he could go and tell the new friends who was still inside that he had to leave. Of course this made a lot of noise and all the young nice people followed him out from the bar to find a new place to talk. Strange that a Norwegian boat can do this to visiting travelers who do not provoke or make problems. I just came for an exhibition about freedom of speech in Norway, and this is what happens on my way back from this free country.

FFF has a lot to do. Liberating nature and sexuality is quite a big task. So sometimes we have too little time to update the free front pages on the FFF webpage. We have to focus on updating the member's section. So if you want more info about what we are doing, please become a FFF support member and help save nature.

This winter we finally have a chance to visit the nature project we are working with in Costa Rica and Ecuador. In Costa Rica we buy land and make protected areas. Until now we have bought about 50 Hectares of Rainforest that is now protected against being cut down and destroyed. And this is just the beginning.

"El Sueño de las Semillas" -- "The Dream of the Seeds"

is a reforestation project located in the Amazon of Ecuador. Contained in every seed is the dream of an intact, vibrant, spiritually and ecologically healthy forest. We humans have done so much to destroy these connections; it is time for us to use our creativity and resources for recovery and healing.

The project started as a collaboration between tropical ecology student Erica Van Etten and individual indigenous Amazonian leaders who have a deep caring about the jungle, as well as the future of their cultural and ecological heritage.

Our work includes the collection and planting of forest seeds by local communities, as well as scientific research to develop methods of large-scale reforestation, with native seeds. We are also interested in people's cultural relationship with plants, and are recording songs, stories and traditional uses for local education and future publication.

Right now the seeds are falling and we are very busy collecting seeds and getting them planted! We are also building trails, documenting the location of fruiting trees and creating a seed-identification voucher collection (with names in Shuar, Quechua, Spanish, Latin, etc.). To improve volunteer facilities, we are planting a larger garden and orchard, building a composting toilet and constructing a cabin for long-term accommodations.

Finally we are getting somewhere! We have for a long time searched for an ecological project to support. So when we heard about a project in urgent need for funding to stop forest destruction, we decided to act. We are also working on helping eco projects in Brazil and maybe Peru. The project in Costa Rica was our first real step to protect and in this specific case also restore the rainforest. In this Costa Rican region not far from the Carara national park farmers have cut down a big portion of forest and split up the land. This threatens the ecosystem of the whole area, as it destroys the habitat of animals and worse, it interrupts the roaming of many animals, which they need for survival.

In situations like this, one would try to 'build' an ecological corridor. Which means: protect intact old forest and plant trees between these forests islands to connect them again. The Costa Rican organisation Arbofilia (treelover) had started exactly this already years ago. The project was getting difficult now because of landowners and farmers who either continued felling trees in the corridor area planed or recently began to sell their land to land developers. More than half of this land still is very valuable old rainforest, some is secondary forest and some is cattle land, which needs replanting. It is important that this land along the corridor does not end up in the wrong hands. Arbofilia has been planting trees along this corridor for years and the corridor was growing. But the latest development and increased pressure on the forest, was more than Arbofilia with it's limited financial resources could respond to. So we decided to buy land, before it got in wrong hand. This allows Arbofilia to continue restoreing the forests and not loose all the investment of previous years.

FFF won the price for - best website of 2005 at "The charity erotic award". We made this web site like playing children. With trying and failing, and A LOT OF LOVE!! It was the mission behind our philosophy that forced us to use the web. And in some magical way it worked. It is a great inspiration for FFF that we reach people with our childish expression:)

The Norwegian state is pumping up oil and cooperating with war hungry nations. But a small performance, using sex to put focus on the destruction of nature was too much for these humans. Now they want to send Leona & Tommy to jail for 20 days for indecent behavior. Well, not so unexpected from a country with a priest as a political leader. Norway has some of the most double moral standards of the world. We guess they want to make an example.. Follow the story!

Yoko Ono was in Oslo this winter with her exhibition “Horizontal Memories”. Media asked her about fuckforforest. She loved our project. We are sad that we were not there to meet her.

In 1969 Yoko Ono and John Lennon did they’re famous “Bed in for peace” in Amsterdam. A whole week the newly married couple stayed in bed to express they’re protest against the Vietnam War.

They’re expression made a great picture on the spirit of a free-mind and the power of love and sexuality in the 60s. And it has inspired many to believe in love as a way to change the world. Then the world turned to the worse and fuckforforest was born!
